    Das Epizentrum lag laut dem Wiener Zentralinstitut für Meteorologie und Geodynamik (ZAMG) rund 70 Kilometer nordwestlich von Frankfurt im Westerwald. Die Erschütterung ereignete sich laut Geoforschungszentrum Potsdam (GFZ) um 13.43 Uhr in zehn Kilometern Tiefe und erreichte eine Stärke von 4,8.
