    Hallo

    Gruss
    Rene

    Hi, dear Rene,
To use the TOA board without any host PC, you have some altrenatives.
Some times ago I tryed to preapre some of it. About this early experiments you can read short notes from my reffered web page on the Participants table:

and this notes you can find here:

I tried to use a cheap and low power Asus EEEPC, and an atmel small router demo boarad, its name is ngw100.
After this I used the Lynksys NSLU2 NAS box, es a host machine. I installed on it (on a pen drive) a current debian, with development tools, and I compiled the "standard" Linux Tracker ver 23.
But if you have an installed debian linux, you have another alternative: you can install it without comlipations, the
Andreas Wuerl debian package, its name is blitzortung tracker tools, and you can see here, what is it:

And you can download from his developing server here:

Some times ago I bought a cheap, "new generation" wireless router, it is compatible with the wrtg software, and it has usb ports, and I installed on it the latest wrtg, but I dont know, are there any compiled toa tracker program or not.
If not, you need to install a cross compilation tool, practically any linux box, and need to complie the Egon,s LT tracker code, I think, it can make without any problem...
On this forum you can find some notes, there exists working solution based on wrtg-compatible router, but I dont know its exact accessibility

Ok, my new router is TL-MR3420, based on ar17xx chip, and now I made a small search on the openWRT download site, on the latest Backfire 10.03 distribution, in the possible packages, but I dont find any "official" package for blitzortung tracker.
But need to notice, not all the packages collections, exsisting for the different architecture, contains exactly the same packages, if you know, what is your case, I propose to look into the packages list (file).

It need to note, not only the meteohub (run on NSLU2) contains tracker prog for TOA board, but in the italian meteo-community there is a popular, similar AnemOS system, (running on NSLU2 too), and contains tracker prog too...

Meines Wissens ist ein Downloadlink für die Firmeware des Routers in der Blitzortungs PDF zu finden.

    Hi Peter,
Thank you for the reference to our "basic document", I can tell you, I have 4-5 older, different versions of it on the same name, but I see only now this new, latest version, dated to apr. 2011.... thank you.
I checked the links, can find there, to the openwrt version, but I didnot find downloadable package. Now I am not involved to make a Linksys version, because my router based on different (Atheros) controler chip.
I dont have "up-to-date" informations about the Openwrt, but seems me, there are differences (and advantages/disadvantages) between the distributions.
Egon refered to the Kamikaze distribution of the OpenWRT, but I used the later, Backfire distribution.
From the Kamikaze distribution was the last version the 8.09.2 in jan 2010. It contains compiled packages to the Broadcom controllers, used mainly in Linksys routers, brcm-2.4 and brcm47xx
The later backfire distribution come out aug.-nov, 2010, the version is 10.03.1-rc4, and was compiled to more one Broadcom chipset, brcm63xx. I made search in this packages list, but dont find compiled version to LT.
    So, Rene,
I am affread, you have the way only to compile yourseft to your router modell the LT program, or if you have the same modell, as Egon presented, you can ask the compiled program from him.

    Rene,
if you browse a little in our participants list you will find two more members, who deal with this problems, and it seems, they use successfully the setups, based on OpenWrt and any compatible router hw.
    This members are:

43 Thorsten Bottjer, Bremen, he use MidgeTracker, now his running version MT23b, it seems me, based on the LT23 vers.
    Another member is
186, Axel Karch, Hähnichen, he use WRTTracker, actual version at him station WRT22.
Because they published the running tracker verson on a special name, it seems, they made some modification on the "standard" LT version... but what are the details, it unknown for us.
I dont know, any of this members are present here sometimes or not, but they didnot published any personal web page/access on the Participants Table.
Connected to this situation, I would like to note here to our small common problem: If somebody dont active on this Forums, and dont publish any access, we havenot another way to make contacts with such members. Sometimes it is not the best situation in a volutair based community, and in the situation, when we would like to discuss common problems.
