Neue Version wview 3.9.0

  • About:
wview is an application that controls a supported weather station to retrieve archive records and current conditions. Archive records may optionally be stored in a relational database (MySQL or PostgreSQL). At a user-defined interval, wview will use the archive history and current conditions to generate weather images (buckets and graphs) and Web pages based on configurable HTML templates. It supports serial and USB data loggers, as well as connectivity with a terminal server or serial server via TCP sockets.
    Release focus: Major feature enhancements

    Changes:
The rain rate accumulator window was adjusted for the WS-2300. A rain rate accumulator was added to the WMR918 station as the reported rain rate from the station is inferior. The default source location for FTP transfers was changed from $prefix/var/wview to $prefix/var/wview/img. Rain tipper size support was added for Vantage Pro stations. Dual unit support in charts and buckets was enhanced. A new HTML template was added, "parameterlist.htx", which includes every HTML tag. Conversion of Sea Level Pressure (SLP) to Station Pressure (SP) was modified in wvutils. The new chrome skin was added.

    Changes:
The use of multiple text files for wview configuration was replaced with one SQLite3 database. There are now multiple ways to configure wview, including some new graphical choices. The use of the "WLK" database files was replaced with the use of one SQLite3 database. Support was added for the new radlib red-black text search utility for data tag matching.

    Release focus: Major bugfixes

    Changes:
This release fixes a bug for Vantage Pro stations that only occurred if there were no records in the wview-archive.sdb database (new install), which caused the wviewd daemon to never retrieve archive records because of a bad LastArchiveTime value ("retrying archive record...").

  • Changes:
New SQLite3-MySQL/PostgreSQL export scripts were added. The $distro/dbexport directory was added to contain the script sources. This version series will be the last to contain the wviewsqld daemon as it is now deprecated in favor of the wview-mysql-export script. Missing documentation was added for the default wviewmgmt password in the user manual. The sample databases for config and archive were removed and the "install-env" make target was changed so it generates them. This avoids platform issues of sqlite3 databases.
